Research Assistant II
Nakia Collins joined the Butler Institute for Families in April 2013.
She is a graduate of Purdue University with a Master of Arts degree in Sociology. Nakia worked as a data analyst for the Colorado Department of Higher Education (DHE) and is skilled in conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, presenting research finding, preparing reports and peer-reviewed journal articles. At DHE, Nakia worked on projects that connected K12 data to post-secondary data which provided cohort specific tracking of students through high school graduation and into higher education, and created searchable databases for school districts. She has sat on various committees, workgroups and data sharing advisory groups as well as developing the research design for the PWR Endorsed Diploma Pilot Project.
Her current work at the Butler Institute involves analyzing data, writing reports, and coordinating evaluation activities for the Mountains and Plains Child Welfare Implementation Center.
